Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum GPA requirement to apply?

At St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, we do not require a minimum GPA. Our admissions process is holistic, focusing on the whole applicant rather than just numbers. We look for individuals who demonstrate a genuine passion for veterinary medicine, a commitment to animal care, and a strong work ethic. Our goal is to admit students who show not only academic potential but also the character and compassion essential for becoming exceptional veterinarians.

When is the application deadline?

Our admissions process follows a rolling basis, meaning we accept applications throughout the year. To ensure a smooth enrollment experience, we recommend submitting your application at least two months before the January, May or September semester you plan to enter. This allows ample time to secure your spot. If your application is received after a class has reached capacity, it will be automatically considered for the next available semester.

Can I apply to St. Matthew's University with VMCAS?

St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine is not part of the VMCAS application system. However, to simplify the process, applicants are welcome to upload a PDF copy of their VMSAS application through our common application form for consideration.
