The Pre-Veterinary Master’s Program is a pre-veterinary education program for career changers with an undergraduate-level degree and some foundational science coursework. If you hold an undergraduate degree in a field other than the typical pre-vet majors, this program can be your gateway to a rewarding career as a practicing veterinarian.
After just two intensive semesters spanning eight months (or more when studying part-time), successful participants will earn a Master of Science (MSc) in Biomedical Science degree and gain admission into St. Matthew’s University’s Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program.
Secure your future as a vet student without the hassle of separate applications. Successfully completing our Master’s program guarantees your spot in the DVM program.
Jumpstart your veterinary school journey in just 8 months, by passing the typical 2+ years required by other Master’s programs.
Earn your MSc and DVM degrees in just 12 semesters.
Master’s students form bonds with classmates that last through the DVM, making it easier to achieve success early-on.
Benefit from the knowledge of our committed faculty, 100% of whom hold a PhD, DVM, or MD degree.
St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine is listed with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is a Provisional Member Institution of the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC).
I have learned so much and I’ve met so many amazing people. And people who have inspired me to move on and try new things that I had never thought I’d want to do. I always wanted small-animal medicine, but now I’m thinking about things like public health or radiology. And I’m being taught by experts who have shown me the way.
I chose St. Matthew’s University because of the smaller class sizes, the accelerated program, the island and that it’s close to home with daily flights. I have appreciated feeling like a human and not a number.”

One of the biggest things that sets St. Matthew’s aside from other veterinary schools is the small class sizes. Within our own semesters we created pseudo families while we were down there, and there was a huge amount of mentorship and aid available from both the teachers and other students because of that community
